~ Tears For the Children ~
Child Abuse...a reality of such magnitude it is almost incomprehensible to truly understand the totality of it if you simply close your eyes and look the other way. Thousands of children are being abused within the United States every day! Many of them will die at the hands of their abuser. Others will grow up with the scars embedded so deep inside their hearts that they wish they would have been. Why? Because there were so many people out there who just simply looked the other way.
"Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don't stand back and let them die. Don't try to disclaim responsibily by saying you didn't know about it. For God, who knows all hearts, knows yours, and He knows you knew! And He will reward everyone according to his deeds." Proverbs 24:11-12
Children are a gift from God. They are innocent and bear no blame for what their abusers do to them. Why then would someone want to harm them? Because abusers are cowards! They prey upon the young, knowing they cannot protect themselves from the ?monster? facing them. Fearing for their little lives or someone close to them they can hear the threats echoing from within their little minds. Threats so maliciously instilled within this child by the abusers themselves who have no fear of hurting ?the child?. Their cowardice shows through their fear of being discovered by an adult and the punishment they must endure because of it.
I am a survivor of sexual abuse. A man who my family believed to be someone they could trust was not who they thought he was. I was 10 or 11 years old. His name was Preacher Bradshaw, a man of God and I detest the fact that he hurt me, hurt my family and abused the trust my Grandmother had in him. She died hating me when I was 11 years old. Was it my fault?

"About Me" is where you'll find a story about my emotional ride through life and what this man did to me. Sometimes scars are left upon the innocent to deal with the best way they know how, yet sometimes there is no true healing. Little by little I am adding more as I find the writings put away that I have written through the years about this.

I adopted the symbol of the teardrop below for all the children who suffer from child abuse and continue to suffer from child abuse. Please adopt this tear drop and display it on your page to show your support against child abuse. Click on the teardrop to get yours.
~ Tears For the Children ~
Do not close your eyes to their suffering
You know what you have to do,
Do not turn away from this child's tears
Or the words they've not whispered to you.
Did you see the bruises they tried to hide
When you walked past them just today,
Or did you notice how nervous they seemed to be
When you asked them if they were okay.
Did you sit and listen to their little screams
That came from the house next door,
Did you hear them begging for their little lives
Or did you turn away like you did before.
Why do we allow these children to suffer or die
When there's so much we could have done,
Why is it that all the tears that are shed,
Come too late to us for the innocent little ones.
